About the job
The Transportation Specialist is responsible for booking freight, tracking in-transit shipments, checking in and signing out truck drivers, and arranging pick-up and delivery appointments. It is expected that this individual have strong communication skills as they work with multiple departments in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate shipments.
- Resolve customer issues, both internal and external, relating to transportation.
- Prepare and verify shipment documentation and bills of lading.
- Track and communicate all shipment updates to the appropriate departments.
- Perform shipping counter operations, such as signing out truck drivers and managing the dock schedule.
- Assisting with other duties as assigned by manager.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, prioritization skills and follow-up skills with attention to detail.
- 1+ years of logistics coordination experience.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a high pressure environment.
- Ability to work overtime hours as necessary.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy.
Preferred:
- Associates Degree or higher.
- 3+ years of quality work experience in warehousing, logistics and/or order fulfillment.
- Industry experience.
- Familiarity with Microsoft NAV software and/or a similar ERP system.
- Familiarity with transportation management system (TMS) software.
Compensation and Benefits:
DLF USA Inc. offers a competitive compensation plan with base salary, benefits that include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, a 401k plan, paid holidays, and vacation & paid personal days. Compensation will be based on experience.
