Plant Operator

PGG Wrightson Seeds is one of New Zealand's leading processors of seed and grain products for the arable industry. The business operates throughout New Zealand and Australia and provides products and services to arable growers, livestock producers and to food and feed manufacturers.

PGG Wrightson Seeds is currently seeking competent and energetic Plant Operator in a full time position to join our Grain Operations team at Walton, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and effective drying of harvested grain & be actively involved in the manufacturing of added value grain products.

Responsibilities:

• To receive, deliver and dry grain as appropriate and according to specifications. To complete documentation (weighbridge dockets etc.), take samples and to perform tests and maintain inventory computer records as required.

• Operate and maintain grain drying equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Monitor and adjust temperature, humidity, and drying times to prevent over-drying or spoilage.
• Inspect equipment regularly to identify and troubleshoot any mechanical or operational issues.
• Work closely with the harvest team to ensure timely drying and storage of grain.
• Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Keep accurate records of drying processes, grain quality, and equipment maintenance.

• Ensure bagging and manufacturing of added value grain products is performed to specifications.

We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Plant Operator in the agricultural industry. While prior experience in plant operations or a similar role is advantageous, it is not essential. We provide comprehensive training to ensure your success in this role.
