About the Role
This senior leadership position is responsible for the overall strategy, direction, and performance of the production and procurement function across DLF Seeds Australia. You will ensure the competitive procurement of proprietary seed, secure reliable production outcomes, and foster strong relationships with growers, agents, and certification bodies.
You will lead a skilled national field production and procurement team and play a critical role in business planning, cost management, and cross‑functional alignment with Sales, Technical Services and Planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end production and procurement of domestic and export seed requirements.
- Oversee the contracting process, including contract preparation, quality specifications, stock seed provisioning, and coordination of crop receival and cleaning.
- Allocate and manage production areas within Australia and internationally in partnership with the NZ production team.
- Ensure production reliability through robust risk management, crop allocation and clear communication with field reps and agents.
- Provide analytics and insights to inform supply chain decisions and report on production/procurement performance.
About You
We are seeking a leader with:
- Senior leadership experience in agricultural, seed, or supply‑chain‑driven industries.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in agribusiness, supply chain, commerce or related fields (or equivalent industry experience).
- Proven success managing complex production and procurement operations at scale.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including risk assessment, negotiation, and margin management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, drive safety performance, and foster cross‑functional collaboration.
