About the job
The warehouse worker is responsible for supporting warehouse and production operations by performing a variety of tasks that ensure shipping and production goals are met efficiently, safely, and with a high level of quality.
Job Summary:
The warehouse worker will oversee a wide variety of warehouse activities including, but not limited to production line work, order selection of product, forklift operation, shipping and receiving, and maintaining inventory records.
The ideal candidate for this position works well on a team and has a positive attitude. They are also mindful of safety in a manufacturing warehouse environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from third parties, safely transporting materials to designated areas using a forklift.
- Organize and monitor inventory according to established procedures to ensure products are easy to locate for order fulfillment.
- Accurately record all inventory transactions.
- Select raw materials and/or customer orders for processing or shipment.
- Verify the accuracy of order selection and accompanying documentation.
- Assist production lines as needed to meet daily production demands.
- Execute and follow through on the daily shipment plan.
- Direct the placement of completed products into finished goods inventory.
- Recommend improvements to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.
- Communicate and coordinate activities with team members and other departments to support both internal and external customers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support company operations.
Qualifications:
Skills:
- Ability to use computer and company software.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to make calculations such dimensional weight, totals, and percentages.
- Ability to meet physical requirements including standing, sitting and walking throughout the day (8-10 hours); repeated twisting at the torso while lifting and pulling inventory from shelves.
- Regular lifting of up to 60 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 70 pounds.
- Willingness to become certified as a forklift operator.
Preferred
- One year relevant warehouse experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Forklift Operations
- Familiarity with Microsoft (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams and NAV) software.
- Ability to solve problems when needed.
- Excellent written, verbal communication and listening skills.
