The Role:

Due to a recent retirement, DLF Seeds is currently seeking a Sales Agronomist to join our team. This exciting role will be based (with flexibility) in the highly sought after region of southern QLD, encompassing desirable living locations such as the Fraser Coast, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Toowoomba and the Darling Downs.

An exciting pipeline of innovative products, along with a suite of proven high-performance products will support the role in achieving success. Reporting to the Northern Regional Sales Manager, your key areas of responsibility will be:

  • Development and execution of territory business plans to achieve agreed targets.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with retail partners, farmers, agronomists, consultants and industry groups.
  • Position the DLF Seeds brand and products as a leading science-based organisation that delivers the highest productivity for our customer base.
  • Providing on farm agronomic support and localised product demonstrations.
  • Positioning new and existing products to fit the desired farm system, identify and explore new growth opportunities.
  • Plan and coordinate technical agronomist activities to maximise retailer, key influencer and farmer awareness of DLF Seeds proprietary products.

Skills required:

Using your strong agricultural background, along with your enthusiasm for the industry, you will be proactive in developing key relationships across the industry to develop the DLF Seeds business across southern QLD.

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Proven agronomic experience in a similar role within the agricultural industry.
  • Strong time management and planning abilities.
  • Results driven approach with a positive and constructive attitude.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a geographically dispersed but close-knit team.
  • Sound knowledge or experience in tropical / sub-tropical pasture and forage production systems would be advantageous.
  • A tertiary qualification in agriculture (or similar) will be looked upon favourably for this position.
  • Ability to travel regularly.
