The Armidale Research station, located near the University of New England on the outskirts of Armidale, is the centre of research and extension activities for DLF Seeds in New South Wales. From this site we manage trials in many northern NSW agroclimatic zones and link strongly within Australian and New Zealand plant breeding and development programs with the aim of developing broadly adapted, innovative and market leading forage varieties. As a Research Agronomist, you will play a crucial role in the success of our Australian business.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conduct high-quality row (Stage 1) and plot (Stage 2) trials in multiple species and environments.
- Collect, report, and analyse agronomically and contextually relevant trial data.
- Assist in the implementation of other breeding and evaluation of innovation programs in collaboration with management.
- Present findings to customers, effectively communicating accumulated knowledge to build trust and brand equity.
Qualifications, and Experience required:
- A Bachelor of Agricultural Science or similar degree and ideally previous experience in an Agronomy role
- An understanding of pastoral science in the areas of plant breeding/genetics and agronomy
- Ability to efficiently handle large sets of data and excellent statistical analysis skills
- A current drivers licence, and a keen eye for detail.
