Quality Technician

Jensen Seeds A/S is an independent seed production company that has been owned by DLF since 2017. We put customer satisfaction at the heart of our activity by offering our customers a service of the highest quality.

We are looking for a Laboratory Technician for our site in Lasserre de Prouille (11). 
 
You will play a key role in supporting our production, logistics and customer relations teams on a daily basis, by ensuring optimal coordination.

The Technician is responsible for carrying out the necessary analyses to guarantee the quality, compliance and traceability of seed lots. He/she actively participates in control, sampling, testing, as well as in maintaining good laboratory practices.

As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for:

QHSE:
•    Respecting and guaranteeing the application of hygiene, quality, safety and environmental standards. (HSE, ISTA, etc.)
•    Actively participate in the QHSE risk analysis and proactive in proposing solutions

PRODUCTION :
•    Performing seed analysis and quality control according to ISTA standards
•    Collecting data, documenting and interpreting the results
•    Ensuring complete traceability of analyses
•    Writing reports and alerting in case of non-compliance or quality deviations
•    Supervising the laboratory's stocks and supply of instruments, materials and products necessary for proper operation.
•    Updating work procedures and instructions. Ensuring compliance.
•    Checking, calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment
•    Participating in the maintenance of equipment and reporting difficulties or needs for repairs or machine changes
•    Follow-up of various indicators necessary for the proper monitoring of production in order to optimize the operation of the laboratory
•    Ensuring the proper traceability of all operations carried out during the analysis process and the reception/shipment of samples
•    Managing laboratory waste to appropriate standards and follow a rigorous safety protocol

COMMUNICATION
•    Collaborating with the production and supply chain teams for batch quality monitoring
•    Ensuring good communication of the analysis results with the various stakeholders (customers, farmers)
•    Training field teams and ensuring the proper application of procedures. 

Profile: 
Bac+2/+3 - BTS/DUT/Bachelor's degree in Biology, Agronomy, Plant Production, Biological Analysis (or equivalent), with at least 3 years' experience in a similar position
Knowledge of the seed sector, ISTA standards and mastery of laboratory analysis techniques are required.

You have a good knowledge and good use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, etc.) as well as ERP systems (We use Navision).

You are hands-on, you have an excellent team spirit, you are organized/rigorous and know how to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
A good level of business English would be a plus in order to communicate via email with customers.
