Agronomist - Sales

Palmerston North  (but could be based anywhere in your region)

About the role:

PGG Wrightson Seeds are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Area Sales Agronomist to join our team.

The Manawatu/Taranaki region is a highly valued territory, backed by an exciting pipeline of innovative products and a strong portfolio of proven performers. You will be supported by a collaborative and inclusive team who have a real passion for the industry. Alongside this you will be working with our valued retailer customers and having the opportunities to make a real difference to farmers and the wider community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build trusted relationships with retailers, farmers, and key industry stakeholders.
• Promote and support our forage product range, including grasses, legumes, herbs, clovers, and brassicas.
• Provide on-farm agronomic support and coordinate local product demonstrations.
• Develop and deliver a territory business plan to achieve agreed goals.
• Position products to best fit farm systems while exploring new opportunities for growth.

• Work alongside trial agronomists to increase awareness of proprietary products
• Contribute to the team in the development of strategy, promotional material, storytelling on product and farm systems along with your own skillset providing a source of support and ideas sharing.

​Skills & Experience:

Applications are welcomed from individuals with a passion for agriculture, strong communication skills, and a commitment to helping farmers succeed. Ideally, candidates will bring:

• A degree in Agronomy or a related field (advantageous but not essential).
• Experience in sales of forage or agricultural products.
• Knowledge of New Zealand farm systems and farming practices.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and listening skills.
• Ability to work independently across a large territory, using technology to enhance sales and service.
• An understanding of the Manawatū/Taranaki Region and its farming landscape.
