DLF Canada Inc. is currently recruiting for a Division Sales Manager, Ontario & Atlantic Canada. While this position is primarily remote, the successful candidate will be required to attend the Head Office in Lindsay, Ontario on an as-needed basis. As such, candidates must reside within a reasonable driving distance of this facility. In addition, the role requires regular travel throughout Ontario and Atlantic Canada to support business and operational needs.

About the job
While leading the Eastern Canada Distribution division, you will be responsible for growing DLF’s business with your team. You will report to the Vice President Distribution Sales, North America SBU.
You will oversee managing organizational sales by developing strategies, business plans, executing those plans and coordinating marketing initiatives. You will oversee the activities and performance of your sales team by setting targets and performance management to support team success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop strategies and plan recommendations for growing DLF’s business and then oversee the execution of such strategies and plans
- Maximize territory volume, net sales revenue and gross margin while ensuring such targets align with longer term growth objectives
- Lead and develop the team within a professional management environment, while adopting a “hands on” orientation over the day-to-day activities
- Ensure “total customer satisfaction” for both external and internal customers
- Foster a one team approach with NA Distribution
- Analyze trends and results
- Assist in developing pricing strategies and recommend selling prices
- Monitor costs, competition, supply, and demand
- Develop sales pipeline methodology and coach the team on how to use it to grow sales and profits
- Help to develop and manage a specific portfolio of key accounts in the marketing area and continually prospect for new accounts
- Stay current on existing and upcoming forage seed, turf seed, and related products to understand and capture emerging industry opportunities
- Provide key input on sales and marketing programs, help implement marketing efforts throughout division
- Manage and monitor sales expenses against budget and reports on a weekly basis
- Make recommendations to leadership on company tools, procedures, and personnel to facilitate profitable sales growth
- Coordinate and collaborate with multiple departments for credit requirements, resource allocation, research and development, marketing, shipping, and transportation.
Qualifications:
- Degree/Diploma/Certificate in agricultural or business-related field
- 5+ years of experience in agricultural sales-related business, seed experience preferred
- Demonstrate completion of applicable sales training programs
- Demonstrate ability to lead a team in producing profitable sales growth
- Ability to lead, manage and communicate effectively with a team located remotely
- 50% travel time (across Canada and possibly other countries as requested)
- Excellent verbal, written, listening and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, prioritization skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Compensation and Benefits:
This position comes with a competitive compensation plan that includes a base salary, bonus potential, company vehicle, medical, dental, vision etc. benefits and Group RRSP option with company matching program. Compensation will be based on experience.
