PGG Wrightson Seeds is seeking a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team at our Pākākano, Lincoln office.
Our Lincoln office is the head office for the Oceania (OCE) group. Comprised of a number of business units, the Oceania team is made up of over 500 employees across New Zealand and Australia. We are part of the global DLF Group, headquartered in Denmark, with operations across the UK and Europe, the USA, Canada, South America and Oceania; you will be part of a truly worldwide co-operative.
About the role
Reporting to the Head of Reporting & Compliance, you will play a key technical accounting role within the Reporting & Compliance function, supporting accurate, compliant and high-quality financial outcomes across Oceania. This role will be responsible for statutory reporting, tax compliance, audit support, technical accounting matters, financial presentation, asset accounting, intercompany accounting, and group consolidation reporting.
You will work closely with the Head of Reporting & Compliance, the CFO, the NZ and AU Finance teams, Group Finance, auditors, tax advisors and business stakeholders to provide clear, timely and trusted financial information. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical capability, sound judgement, attention to detail and the ability to build effective working relationships across the business.
Duties and responsibilities include:

Preparing statutory financial statements across Oceania, including Joint Venture entities.

Supporting the annual audit process and ensuring accurate and timely information is provided.

Preparing and reviewing indirect tax returns for New Zealand Group entities, including GST, FBT, NRWT and RWT.

Supporting year-end tax estimates, wash-ups and tax disclosures.

Providing support on international tax matters, including Transfer Pricing, BEPS Pillar Two and other cross-border tax considerations.

Reviewing Group and OneStream reporting submissions and key reconciliations.

Supporting balance sheet reviews, including high-risk and judgemental accounts.

Providing oversight of intercompany balances, transactions and reconciliations.

Ensuring correct recognition, classification and presentation of capital expenditure and asset accounting.

Maintaining IFRS16 lease reporting through the Nomos lease system.

Contributing to continuous improvement of reporting processes, controls and standards across Oceania.
About you
You will bring a strong technical accounting background, excellent attention to detail and the confidence to work across a complex, multi-entity environment. You will be comfortable managing deadlines, preparing high-quality reporting, and communicating clearly with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Ideally, you will have:

Chartered Accountant qualification, or equivalent. And ideally several years’ post-qualification experience in financial reporting and compliance.

Strong IFRS technical knowledge, including asset accounting, leases and tax accounting.

Experience supporting statutory reporting, audit processes and technical accounting matters.

Experience working across multi-entity or multi-jurisdiction environments, ideally across New Zealand and Australia.

Exposure to international tax concepts such as Transfer Pricing and BEPS Pillar Two would be advantageous.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across Finance, Group teams and operational stakeholders.
