Summary of Position:  

La Crosse Seed, a national leader in the forage, turf, wildlife, and cover crop seed industry, is looking for a Sales Support Specialist (SSS) - a problem solver who can work effectively, efficiently, and independently in a deadline-driven, dynamic, team-based environment. The Sales Support Specialist is responsible for working with a sense of urgency and utilizing a proactive approach without relying on follow-up from others. The Sales Support Specialist resolves problems with minimal direction and consistently seeks process improvement. The Sales Support Specialist is flexible and committed to work long hours and contribute to growing the business.  

 

Reports to: Sales Support Supervisor

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Processing customer orders and invoicing 
  • Responding to customer service or account inquiries 
  • Providing administrative support to multiple salespeople 
  • Answering, screening, and routing incoming telephone calls 
  • Assisting salespeople with price quotes 
  • Greeting and directing company customers/visitors 
  • Assisting with general office duties 
  • Attendance, punctuality and reliability are essential requirements of this position 
  • Other duties as assigned 

 

Physical Requirements:  

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk (or standing) and working on a computer 

Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:  

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate 
  • 2+ years of similar experience in increasingly responsible roles 
  • Comfort with technology and strong ability to learn new systems 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software 
  • Ability to work overtime hours as necessary 
  • Ability to make calculations such as discounts, freight estimates, dimensional weight, invoices, and percentages 

 

Preferred Education/Experience: 

  • Education: Associates degree or higher 
  • 2+ years of quality work experience 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft NAV software 
  • Experience streamlining processes and eliminating waste to keep costs low while maintaining high quality products or services 
  • Agriculture/seed knowledge is not required and can be taught/learned
