Production Coordinator

Job Summary
The Production Coordinator is responsible for managing various administrative tasks that support the production process within the company’s centrally located production team. This role ensures quality, accuracy, and compliance with all federal and state regulations throughout the production cycle. The coordinator will handle work orders, inventory allocation, and labeling while collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain efficiency and product integrity.
Reports To: Production Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive and process work orders from the Sales Support team and Production Manager.
- Create and assign production orders within the ERP system.
- Allocate inventory according to designed formulations.
- Update formulations for custom jobs as required.
- Generate accurate labels and tags for output products in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Assist with inter-company transfers to fulfill production component needs.
- Support the customer retest/re-tag process.
- Assist in Inventory Quality Control, including:
- Seed testing
- Seed tagging
- Quality management
- Lab correspondence
- Following direction from designated Production Line Lead
- Work closely with production administration members and warehouse teams to meet production goals.
- Collaborate with location managers and Outside Sales Team members as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Follow all written and verbal instructions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Minimum of a high school diploma.
- 1–3 years of relevant office and customer service experience.
- Excellent verbal, written, listening and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, prioritization skills and follow-up skills with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Ability to work overtime hours as necessary.
Skills & Competencies
Required:
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to read and interpret legal documents, including federal and state seed regulations.
- Strong mathematical skills, including percentages and basic algebra.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook.
- Flexible and positive attitude with a willingness to learn new functions.
Preferred:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with Microsoft Navision or similar ERP systems.
