Agronomy Technician - Casual

PGG Wrightson Seeds is market leader in the development of proprietary grass, legume and brassica products. We’re looking for a Casual Forage Technician to join our Waikato team based at the Ruakura Research Centre in Hamilton.

In this role, you’ll be working within New Zealand’s largest forage research programme helping to collect data for our evaluation and breeding programmes.  It helps if you love being outdoors as this role will involve field work. 

To be successful in this role you will:

• Experience in the agricultural industry preferable
• Studying towards a tertiary degree or have an interest in plants and pastoral agriculture
• A high standard of English and excellent interpersonal communication
• Have skills in MS Office, Word and Excel
• Be able to communicate clearly and accurately.
• Be physically fit and happy to work outdoors in a variety of weather

During our busy period (Spring to Christmas) we anticipate 10-20 hours of work available per week. In the winter and late summer workload will be quieter. We are somewhat flexible and can work with you to secure time around family or study commitments
