Field Technician

PGG Wrightson Seeds is part of the global DLF Group, servicing both New Zealand and international markets. We work across the entire seed journey from research and development through to production, processing, and on-farm support supplying high-quality seed to arable growers, livestock producers, and food and feed manufacturers.

We are one of New Zealand’s leading seed and grain processors and are now seeking a motivated, Lab Technician. This role is Fixed Term opportunity, 30 hours a week.

This role involves supporting a wide range of field, nursery, and seed‑processing activities throughout the season. No two days are the same you’ll be involved in everything from planting trials to harvesting and seed cleaning.

• Trial seed packaging
• Trial planting and thinning
• Hand pollinating
• Seed crop roguing and detasseling
• Trial and nursery harvesting
• Nursery seed lot shelling and cleaning
• Shelling and cleaning of small production seed lots
• Trial grain sample analysis

• Someone who enjoys practical, hands‑on work
• A good level of physical fitness
• Strong attention to detail
• Willingness to learn a range of field and seed‑related tasks
• Ability to work well in a team environment
