About the role
We are seeking a Coating Technician / Forklift Operator to join our Forbes, NSW operations team. We support the local farming community and take pride in servicing the greater Australian agricultural industry.
This is a full-time role working 38 hours per week, with reasonable additional hours as required during busy seasonal periods.
In this role, you will safely operate a forklift, undertake essential store and yard duties, support repairs and maintenance, and contribute to a clean, tidy and well-organised site.you will operate fixed plant used to coat, treat, mix, clean and grade seed, while helping ensure quality, safety, hygiene and throughput standards are consistently maintained.
Key responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Operate a forklift safely and efficiently, including stacking pallets and moving product around the site
- Set up, operate and maintain seed processing machinery to meet quality and production requirements
- Support seed coating, treating, mixing, cleaning and grading activities
- Carry out store, yard and housekeeping duties to maintain a tidy and safe workplace
- Help prevent cross-contamination between seed lines through strong hygiene and cleaning practices
- Undertake basic plant repairs, preventative maintenance and equipment checks
- Communicate any quality or throughput issues promptly to the supervisor or manager
- Follow all health, safety, quality, HR and site procedures
- Undertake manual handling tasks, including bagging and stacking up to 25kg bags onto pallets
About you
You will be practical, reliable and safety-focused, with a willingness to learn and work as part of a team. You will take pride in keeping equipment and work areas clean and organised, and you will be comfortable working with seasonal demands and physical tasks.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:

Current forklift licence or certificate, with extensive practical forklift operating experience.

Experience operating machinery or fixed plant in a production, processing, warehouse, grain, seed or agricultural environment.

Mechanical aptitude, including basic equipment checks, cleaning, maintenance and minor repairs.

Experience working to production targets, quality standards and delivery timeframes.

Good understanding of hygiene, cleaning and contamination control requirements.Ability to safely complete manual handling, including bagging and stacking up to 25kg.

Awareness of safety requirements when working around machinery, forklifts, treated seed, chemicals and dust.
